Nokia makes its Nokia 1 Plus device available in SA

CAPE TOWN - HDM Global announced that its Nokia 1 Plus device will be available in South Africa.
The company stated that the aim of this device is to give users mid-range smartphone features at a more affordable price point.
HMD Global South Africa general manager Shaun Durandt said in a statement: ¨With the Nokia 1 Plus our vision is to deliver exceptional value for money with a bigger screen and a high-quality distinctive design.¨
“The improved screen display and better viewing experience will allow you to enjoy your favourite apps and shows on the go and with the added benefit of Google Assistant Go – your own AI voice assistant allows you to ask questions, set reminders, and give it tasks, all by simply talking to it,” Durandt said.
The device has a 5.45-inch 480 x 960 IPS LCD display and has a 2500 mAh battery.
The device is one of the first smartphones running Android 9 Go to be released and will be powered by a quad-core MediaTek CPU
The Nokia 1 Plus features an auto-focus rear camera, a new front-facing camera and will be available in two colours – Blue and Black.
HMD Global said that the Nokia 1 Plus would be available from Vodacom outlets from 1 May 2019 for a recommended retail price of R1,499.
