Facebook to launch updated version of its Portal smart speakers

Facebook is reportedly working on a new and updated version of the Portal smart speaker.

This is according to a report by The Verge, which stated that the company will continue to invest in Portal and that it is going to unveil news on the device later in this fall.

The publication interviewed Andrew “Boz” Bosworth, Facebook’s vice president of AR/VR and he said that the sales of the smart speakers that were launched last year are doing well, but he did not reveal sale numbers.

“Hardware is coming to the home, and we want to make sure that human connection, connection between two people, is a first-party experience on that hardware,” he told The Verge.
