Canal Walk renovations to include Ratanga rides

CAPE TOWN – The Canal Walk shopping centre is set to reportedly bring back some the enjoyable rides that were last seen at Ratanga Junction as part of its renovations.
This is according to a report by Cape Town ETC, which states that the renovations are part of Hyprop Investments Limited’s plan for expanding entertainment options at their malls and that it would cost around R58-million.
Hyprop chief executive Morné Wilken told the publication that the renovations will be of a family-oriented nature of Canal Walk by providing children’s entertainment in close proximity to the eating area.
"The development speaks to the fact that malls in South Africa remain key destinations for retail and family entertainment, making this a worthwhile investment over the long term," Wilken told the publication.
The report further stated that the Ratanga Family Entertainment Centre is expected to open by the end of 2019, while the food court upgrade will be ready in the first quarter of 2020.
