Ackermans opens its own smartphone store, Ackermans Connect

Clothing retailer in SA, Ackermans announced that it has opened its first standalone cell phone and technology store called Ackermans Connect.
The branches will be independent of the retailer’s clothing brands, offering customers devices and accessories.
“After the success of our own cellular brand, Premio, the next step in cellular was to launch our own standalone stores,” said Ackerman’s cellular manager Michael Grace in a statement.
“The concept had been in discussion for some time and in February this year we made the decision to move ahead with it.”
Just one Ackermans Connect store is officially open in South Africa, located in Vosloorus. Another is set to launch in Germiston.
The company added that it will still open a few more stores across the country by September 2020.
